Acts of kindness and the spirit of community were on full display this Thanksgiving as St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge, with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous supporters, served more than 2,460 neighbors in need across the Capital Region.
What began as a simple meal transformed into a true Thanksgiving celebration, thanks to the countless individuals who gave their time, resources, and compassion. Volunteers helped prepare, serve, and share meals at four locations: the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, Raising Cane's River Center, McKinley High School Alumni Center, and St. Gerard Catholic Church.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing neighbors at Oasis Christian Church, who have now supported this effort for five years strong. This year, their generosity and love were evident as they brought 206 cans of green beans and yams, helping ensure that Thanksgiving Day meals could be prepared for our community.
Their giving hearts make a tangible difference, and the organization expressed deep gratitude for their continued support and commitment to serving others.
From warm plates of traditional Thanksgiving food to heartfelt conversations and welcoming smiles, the day offered comfort, dignity, and connection to those who might otherwise have gone without a holiday meal.

With the holiday season underway, St. Vincent de Paul continues its mission of serving individuals and families facing hardship, strengthened by the community’s unwavering support.
St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge faithfully serves by providing daily meals, shelter, clothing, emergency assistance, and compassionate care to those in need. Guided by the Gospel and the Church’s mission of charity, the organization offers hope, dignity, and tangible support, bringing God’s love to individuals and families facing hardship and showing that every neighbor is our brother and sister in Christ.
