Fill-A-Prescription

This Easter season, as we reflect on the blessings in our lives, we are also reminded of the many individuals in our community who are facing overwhelming challenges. The current economic climate continues to place heavy burdens on families. The rising prices for basic needs and the ongoing uncertainty is making daily life difficult for so many. At St. Vincent de Paul, we see the impact of these struggles every day through the stories shared by those we serve.

At our St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy, the consequences of this crisis on health are especially clear. Many of our neighbors are forced to break tablets or skip life-saving medications simply because they can’t afford them. For example, an uninsured person may face costs of over $900 for diabetic medication or around $850 for heart failure medication. Our pharmacy has become a vital resource for those living with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

As the need continues to grow, so do the challenges we face. Thanks to generous supporters like you, we are able to continue providing this essential service. As we enter another difficult year, we invite you to support our Fill a Prescription for the Needy campaign, in partnership with WBRZ-Channel 2, Pat Shingleton, and the Baton Rouge Clinic.

There are two powerful ways you can help:

  • Refer someone in need: If you know someone struggling to afford their medications, please direct them to our pharmacy at (225) 383-7450.

  • Make a gift: Your financial contribution of any amount helps us provide critical medications to those in need. You can donate online by clicking here

If you're unable to give at this time, we humbly ask for your prayers for those we serve and for the continued strength of our mission. Your compassion brings hope and healing to so many.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Easter season.

With heartfelt gratitude,Cheryl C. CochranCFO & Interim CEO
