Building Hope, Expanding Opportunity: Rosalie’s Boutique and the Holmes Outreach Center Open New Doors for Our Community

This spring has been an exciting season at St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge. With the opening of two new retail locations, SVDP is expanding its ability to serve neighbors and share Christ’s love in new ways throughout the community.

On May 16, SVDP celebrated the opening of Rosalie’s Boutique, its first upscale resale store. Just a few weeks later, on June 6, SVDP opened the Holmes Thrift Store and Outreach Center, its fifth thrift store and first location to combine retail operations with direct outreach services.

The additional stores expand access to affordable shopping, create new opportunities for community engagement, and generate vital support for programs that feed, clothe, house, and heal thousands of neighbors each year.

Rosalie’s Boutique builds on the success of SVDP’s thrift store ministry while introducing new audiences to St. Vincent de Paul's mission. Through a carefully curated shopping experience featuring vintage apparel, distinctive home décor, and unique treasures, the boutique creates new opportunities for community members to support the organization’s work and become part of its mission.

Guests at the grand opening toured the boutique, met staff and volunteers, and experienced firsthand how every purchase helps fund services that transform lives throughout the Baton Rouge area.

Located on Greenwell Springs Road, the Holmes Thrift Store and Outreach Center expands access to affordable shopping and serves as a hub for outreach services. As the first SVDP location to combine retail and direct client services under one roof, the center reflects the organization’s commitment to meeting people where they are and reducing barriers to assistance. By bringing resources closer to the communities that need them most, SVDP is creating new pathways to stability, self-sufficiency, and hope.

Though each location offers a distinct experience, both reflect the power of a community coming together to put faith into action, turning donations, purchases, volunteer service, and prayer into hope and support for neighbors in need.

SVDP invites the community to visit Rosalie’s Boutique, the Holmes Thrift Store and

Outreach Center and see these exciting new additions firsthand. Together, we are creating more opportunities to serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and love.
