Back to school with confidence and joy

ree

As summer came to a close, St. Vincent de Paul Baton Rouge helped children in our shelters — and across 12 parishes — step into the new school year with confidence. Through our Uniforms for Kids program, more than 9,700 uniforms were distributed, sparing families the financial strain and ensuring children can focus on learning instead of worrying about fitting in.

Thanks to the generosity of individual donors and corporate partners, children staying in our Sweet Dreams Shelter also received backpacks filled with school supplies — plus a surprise karaoke party to celebrate. Smiles, laughter, and gratitude filled the day, reminding us how small acts of kindness can transform a child’s outlook.

For over 25 years, Uniforms for Kids has been a source of dignity and hope, and it continues to be possible only because of the compassion of our community. Together, we’re setting students up for a strong start and a bright future.
