As we approach the Christmas season, there’s a special kind of warmth that fills the air—the kind that makes us think of home. For many, it’s a place where we feel safe, loved, and surrounded by those who care for us. Whether we’re young or old, secure or struggling, there’s something about being home that makes the holidays so meaningful.
But for far too many, this simple joy is out of reach. Thousands of individuals and families—men, women, children, and seniors— will not have a place to call home this Christmas. They won’t have the comfort of gathering around a table with loved ones or waking up to the warmth of a place that feels like their own. With your help, St. Vincent de Paul is that place.
For several decades, we’ve been more than just a shelter. Yes, we offer food, warm beds, and Christmas gifts to those who need them. We also offer something even more precious: hope. It is hope that inspires us all to keep moving forward, even when life feels overwhelming. Hope makes it possible for someone to envision a brighter future, even in the darkest of times. Your support will help us give that hope to many during this season.
St. Vincent de Paul is working tirelessly to make this Christmas a time of hope and joy for every person we serve. This year, we will provide more than 30,000 shelter nights to individuals who are experiencing homelessness. But our mission goes beyond just providing a safe place to sleep – our Dining Room will serve over 300,000 meals to people who are struggling to make ends meet, and our Community Pharmacy will continue to provide life-saving prescriptions to those who can’t afford their medications.
This Christmas, we’re asking for your help -- your generosity can ensure that we continue to provide vital services that not only offer immediate relief but also build hope. Whether you can contribute financially, offer a prayer, or volunteer your time, your support makes an immeasurable impact. Prayer is a powerful gift, and your prayers provide us with the strength and compassion we need to continue our work. We are so grateful for your past support, and we hope you will consider extending that generosity this Christmas season. A financial contribution would have a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. You may give online by clicking here. Your gift will bring hope to those who need it most.
As you gather with loved ones this Christmas, we pray that your home is filled with peace, joy, and love. May the miracle of Christ’s birth light your heart and inspire you to be a source of light for others in need.
Peace to you during this season,
Cheryl Cochran
